The World Would Be A Better Place...

...if we could throw people who file nuisance lawsuits like this into jail, just for pure asshattery. They could share a cell with the money-grubbing lawyers who agree to help them.

I'm sure the American legal system has its upsides, but they're eluding me at the moment.

It's a giveaway. He's not being discriminated against for anything for which he's paid, nor in employment, nor by a public sector facility. This dies on summary judgment. Though the calculation might change if the Angels did a MLK Day promotion and gave something away only to African Americans. The current standard follows public intuition: it's worse to discriminate on the basis of race than on gender. The age discrimination claim is so poor, I'm surprised the attorney is including it even on the everything-and-the-kitchen-sink policy normally followed by attorneys.

Still, at least Mr. Cohn gets points for being straightforward with his complaint -- no one can dispute that the promotion was tailored toward women of a certain age (18+ and you're automatically a target for Mother's Day? ouch). For real asshattery, you'll have to look to the Nassau County legislator who's suing Google for profiting from Child Pornography, which is defined as pornography that a child could access given unsupervised access to the internet, rather than the traditional meaning of "pornography that features minors."
